Candy, chocolate, and flowers are great for Valentine’s Day but sometimes heartfelt gifts are the most meaningful. That’s why I love these Valentine’s Day Oreo-filled Chocolate Hearts. Not only are these delicious but they look so pretty!
They look rather hard to make, but it they are actually fairly easy to make and they will make a delicious Valentine’s Day gift for the special person in your life.
Making Valentine’s Day Oreo-Filled Chocolate Hearts
- 22 Oreo Cookies (filling removed, & crushed)
- 1/2 pkg. (4 oz.) Cream Cheese (room temp.)
- 1 1/2 cup Light Pink Candy Melts
- Coconut Oil (optional)
- White Wilton Cookie Icing
- Small Heart Silicone Mold (24 cavity)
Add candy melts to Wilton Candy Melt Pot (you can pick one of these up on Amazon and they are so handy if you frequently use candy melts). If you don’t have the Wilton Candy Melt Pot you may melt the candy melts on a double boiler over low heat. Add coconut oil (optional) if candy melts become too thick.
Pour candy melts into 1/3 of each heart cavity. Lightly tap silicone mold to counter to release air bubbles. Place in freezer for 15 minutes.
Blend (by hand or electric mixer) Oreo cookie crumbs and room temperature cream cheese.
Remove heart mold from freezer. Press Oreo mixture into middle 1/3 of each heart cavity.
Pour candy melts into 1/3 top of each heart cavity. Lightly tap silicone mold to counter to release air bubbles. Place in freezer for 15 minutes.
Remove heart mold from freezer.
Gently remove candy melt heart bites from mold.
Slowly decorate heart tops with white Wilton cookie icing. Allow to set.
Now all is left is to package the Oreo hearts into a pretty container or box and give them to your special someone on Valentine’s Day. Or you can always keep them for yourself! Whichever you choose, I know that these Oreo-filled hearts will be delicious!
