Its time for school to start again. Whether your child is starting preschool (like Little E) or heading back to college (like my sister) there is school shopping to do and things to prepare. One of the most important things, especially when you are sending your kids back to college, is staying in touch.
I remember when I was heading off to college. I was going to Penn State, but it was still 2 hours away and I had never been that far away for that long before. Even though we had phones in the dorms (I know that must seem like forever ago) but the phones didn’t have long distance.
I did have a cell phone but back 13 years ago when I started college, cell phone plans were so different than they are now. In fact, back then you’d almost need an advanced math degree in order to figure out peak and off peak minutes. There was no such thing as a texting plan, and data plans were unheard of!
Things have come a long way since then. Now, when my sister heads back to college she doesn’t have to worry about whether she has used too many minutes before 9 p.m. or keep track of how many text messages she has sent. She can also use her phone to keep track of her grades, use as a calendar, and set reminders — not to mention playing games. I wish the cell phone I had in college did stuff like that!
In fact, she is able to use her cell phone to keep in touch through not only phone calls but also through video chat, text messages, and even e-mails. Even though she is hours away, she is still able to maintain a relationship with myself and my boys.
A cell phone plan that offers unlimited talk, text, and data can get pretty costly. Since there is a reason why the term “poor college student” exists, these expensive cell phone plans aren’t practical when you are on a tight budget. Thankfully, Walmart Family Mobile’s plans give you the features you need for a price you want.
When I first found out about Walmart Family Mobile, I was shocked at how reasonably priced the plans were. For $29.88 per month (for the first line) you can get unlimited talk, text, and up to 1 G of 4G LTE data. You’ll never have to worry about overages or any surprise charges. Also since this is a no-contract wireless plan there aren’t any credit checks or long term commitments.
Plus, just because the Walmart Family Mobile plan doesn’t have any contracts doesn’t mean that you can’t have great phones. In fact, Walmart Family Mobile carries some great brand name phones with a variety of features including the LG Leon LTE (which was rolled back to $79.82 from $99.82) and the ZTE Zinger ($19.98). Additionally, you can bring any unlocked cell phone to the Walmart Family Mobile plan.
Its easy to get started too. All you have to do is purchase the Walmart Family Mobile starter kit for $25, choose your phone, and then sign up for your plan in store or online. You can find the Walmart Family Mobile phones and starter kits in the electronics section of your local Walmart along with the other no contract cell phones and phone accessories.
Comment On: Who are you wanting to stay in contact with as this school year starts?
I think that Walmart Family Mobile is suitable for every person at every stage in life. The affordability, flexibility, and the means for staying touch and connected is simply amazing. It has shaved $100’s off our bill and we love that our kids can enjoy the the benefits as well.
