It’s no secret that pregnancy can change your complexion. Since becoming pregnant, my face has definitely changed. My complexion has become more uneven and I tend to break out more. Needless to say, this is not the look that I’m going for! I know that this will pass and (hopefully!) my skin will go back to normal after I have this little one. Thankfully, in the meantime there are great makeups out there that I can utilize in the interim.
Recently, I was introduced to the company Silent Drama and had the opportunity to try out their Oil Free Powder and their Coverage Concealer. When the package arrived I was excited to give it a try. I was hoping that it would be able to cover some of the unevenness and redness on my face that I have been experiencing lately.
I was really pleased with the quality of the makeup as soon as I put it on. I am not one who likes real heavy makeup that covers up all of your skin. I like a look that simply enhances the skin we already have and maybe just covers a few imperfections. Frankly, no one likes the “I-put-makeup-on-with-a-trowel” look.
As you can see in the first picture, my cheeks and nose are really red looking. This picture is before I put on any makeup. You can also see on my chin that the skin is looking uneven. The second picture is after I put on the Silent Drama concealer and oil-free mineral powder. After putting on the makeup, you can see that my skin looks much more even and not nearly as shiny.
When you first open the concealer it looks much darker than the color you ordered. Don’t worry though because once it is used the color becomes lighter. Another thing I quickly noticed is that with this concealer, a little bit really does go a long way. All you need is a tiny dab to get enough to do the job.
The mineral powder is one of the mosaic powders. Once again it can seem like it will be too dark at first, but once you put it on it blends really well! The only thing that I might recommend with this powder, and I say this about most powders, is to invest in a higher quality sponge or makeup pad than the one that comes with it. The ones that come with them tend to be a little rough and make too much dust. Plus with the dust you have a lot of wasted makeup! You can pick up the pads or sponges at Walmart or any drugstore.
This makeup sure does what it claims it will. It provides coverage and evens out my skin tone without feeling like my skin is being suffocated or feeling like I am wearing a thick layer of makeup! I look forward to trying some more of Silent Drama’s products. Maybe I will even get brave and try some of their amazing eye makeup tricks that I see in the tutorial section of the blog!
