Bathrooms are those things that everyone has (and has to maintain) but no one want to talk about. Well, I’m about to talk about it.
The truth is, the holidays are coming up and in addition to the areas where you host guests, you want your bathroom to be ready as well. This is why I decided to get the guest bathroom “company ready.”
For most of the year I have a colorful, fun theme in my guest bathroom, but with the holidays right around the corner I decided to do something a little more festive. After all, this bathroom will be used when we have company over. Not only do I want it properly stocked but also looking good.
A well-stocked bathroom is one of the most important aspects of entertaining. This is why I deed to Target to pick up Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong® Mega Rolls. I also picked up some very cute decor to give the bathroom a mini makeover.
One of the most important aspects of entertaining is making sure you have a well-stocked bathroom. The Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong Mega Rolls last and last so you can change the roll less often. However, it is important to be prepared for when the roll finally runs out.
Of course, you don’t want rolls just laying out but you also don’t want to leave your guests in a bind. This is why I created a decoupage spare toilet paper roll holder.
I started with a large, empty old fashioned oats container from which I removed the label.
I found some cute rolls of wrapping paper at Target to use to decoupage the oats container. I cut some large pieces of the wrapping paper. I wrapped the container in one of the pieces of wrapping paper. I then cut pieces of the other paper, pieces featuring holiday sayings, and glued them to the canister with Mod Podge.
After gluing the wrapping paper, I decided to add some additional embellishments to the canister. Using a large snowflake-shaped punch, I punched out silver sparkly papers and glued them to the canister.
I then filled the canister with two spare rolls of toilet paper in case a guest needs it. It not only looks festive, but is also functional.
I wanted my bathroom to not only be functional for company but also festive for the season. I already had a holiday-themed shower curtain so I chose decor that would compliment that shower curtain.
Target has some adorable hand towels which I knew would be perfect for the bathroom. I even picked up some additional towel sets to gift to my sons’ teachers. They looked great on the towel rack. What is so cute is that these towels actually match the wrapping paper I used for the decoupaged toilet paper roll holder.
I found a cute holiday box which is great for storing bathroom essentials such as flushable wipes.
As I was heading to the checkout I saw some adorable handmade soaps. I found one with a Christmas tree on it which matched the decor perfectly. Not only is it a cute accessory but of course it is practical for guests to wash their hands with.
