It’s Friday and in Western Pennsylvania you know what that means? It’s football night!
There’s nothing quite like getting the whole family together and heading over to the high school to watch the hometown team. Now that Ethan is in school, I want him to be proud of his school and our hometown. This is why I love taking the boys to the football games.
The only problem is that between getting the boys home from school and getting everyone dressed and ready to go there often isn’t much time for dinner. Thank goodness for Tony’s Pizza!
This pizza has been a lifesaver on so many busy nights, but especially during football season. What is even better is that Tony’s Pizza understands hometown pride and has been serving communities with layers of light, crispy, crunchy crust topped with sauce made from real tomatoes and covered in 100% real mozzarella cheese and popular toppings since the 1960’s.
Did I also mention that right now Tony’s Pizza is running a sweepstakes for your chance to win some pretty great prizes?
#WinWithTonysPizza #Sweepstakes – Walmart (9/19 to 10/17)
Our family favorites are Tony’s® Pizzeria Style MEAT-TRIO® Pizza and Tony’s® Pizzeria Style Pepperoni Pizza, however, even though these pizzas could be served alone it is much tastier with a side.
Cheese and Garlic Pull Apart Bread
If you are anything like me, you are a huge sucker for breadsticks or garlic bread. In fact, my pizza just doesn’t seem complete without them. That’s why when I found this recipe for cheese and garlic pull apart bread I was all over it. It only takes 30 minutes to make and you can even make it the night before (just skip the baking step until right before you want to serve it).
Here is what you will need:
- Loaf of bread
- 3/4 cup of finely shredded mozzarella cheese
- 7 Tbsp of unsalted butter, softened
- 2 Tbsp minced garlic
- ¾ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a microwave safe bowl, combine the butter, garlic, and salt. Melt in the microwave, then stir in the parsley bits.
You will want to cut the bread into approximately 1″ diagonal squares, but be sure not to cut the bread the entire way through.
Using your fingers or a knife, open each cut and drizzle in about a teaspoon of the butter garlic mixture and a pinch of the mozzarella cheese. It’s OK if you get some on the crust as this will just add to the flavor.
Wrap the bread in foil and bake it for 15 minutes or until the cheese is nice and melted. Unwrap from the foil and bake for another 5 minutes to make sure that it is nice and crispy. Serve immediately.
This bread paired with Tony’s Pizza as well as a little marinara dipping sauce is amazing and I can guarantee you that. your whole family is going to be asking for extra servings!
In addition to entering the sweepstakes above, be sure to redeem the Tony’s Pizza and Ibotta offer for $1 off when you purchase any two varieties of Tony’s Pizza. With a deal like that, everyone is a winner!
You can pick up several different varieties of Tony’s Pizza in the freezer section of your local Walmart. In addition, check out the Tony’s Pizza Social Hub for more great Friday Night Lights inspiration!
