Gift cards are such an easy way to give gifts. It is a little more personal than money while it ensures the the recipient can purchase whatever they want.
Something I always struggle with is gift cards feeling rather impersonal. I guess its a cross between giving a personal gift and giving the recipient a way to buy something that they love.
In an effort to give my gift cards a little more of a personal flair I make these cute handmade gift card envelopes. These envelopes are really easy to make and they add a bit of a personal touch.
Making Gift Card Presentation Envelopes
You will want to being with an 8×8 or a 6×6 piece of scrapbook paper. Place the paper so it looks like a diamond.
Fold the two corners in to the center. You can overlap them slightly.
Fold the bottom flap up about 1/4 inch from the bottom. This is to give it a little bit of overlap with the middle flaps. Secure the flaps together with either glue or tape.
Next, tuck the gift card in the envelope and fold over the final flap. Embellish the envelope with stickers and other personalization.
