Making a DIY Lamp from Glass Coca Cola Bottles

I love Coca Cola, but I especially love the glass bottles. When I was younger, we would go to the beach and one of the highlights was when I would go to the country store and buy a glass bottle of Coca Cola.

Those bottles are so iconic which is why I was so excited when I saw the new Diet Coke It’s Mine bottles. Not only do I love Diet Coke, but I also love the bottles. Each of the Diet Coke It’s Mine bottles are completely unique — no two are the same. My personal favorite label is the one with the vibrant yellow, purple and blue on it, but as I keep discovering new looks I may very well find more favorites.

In fact, I loved these new Diet Coke bottles so much that I was inspired to transform the empty bottles into a unique work of art. It’s a work of art with bottles that are as unique as I am!

Making a Glass Coca Cola Bottle Lamp

I had this great clear glass bottle which has the same art deco look as the Diet Coke bottles. I drilled a hole in the back (see a tutorial for drilling the hole HERE) and then inserted a bottle lamp kit.

After preparing the bottle I glued it to the center of a wooden clock face which I spray painted silver using industrial glue. Using the industrial glue, I also glued seven of the empty Diet Coke bottles around the clear bottle in the center.

I then put a washer on the top of the lamp kit so that it keeps the lamp shade higher. I found a really pretty lamp shade embellished with some silver strands which I topped the lamp off with.

The finished lamp was absolutely perfect on my upstairs table.
