I can’t believe that we are already halfway through the summer and it is time to start thinking about sending the kids back to school. Whether you are Back-to-School shopping for a preschooler or a college student you are probably in process of thinking about all of the things you need to buy.
This is particularly true if it is a college student you are shopping for.
Whether it is furnishing a dorm room for a college freshmen just refreshing a room for a senior, there is a lot to buy! Even if you have staples such as towels, sheets, and comforters, there are little things that you can buy in order to make life a little easier on your favorite college student!
This year, I decided to treat my sister, who is in college to a few items to not only make her morning routine quicker but also save her trips to the dining hall. She has done so much for me in these past few months that I thought I could do something that would make her smile.
I stopped by our local Big Lots as it has a great assortment of high-quality Back-to-College items that are perfect for her apartment, in particular her kitchen.
I picked up several items for her including a 4-cup coffee maker, personal blender, and 2-slice toaster. Each of these items is nice to have and can significantly shorten a morning routine.
Staples for a College Morning Routine
One morning staples is a nice cup of coffee. Whether your student is heading to class or just making a cup of coffee while studying, the Mr. Coffee 4-cup coffee maker is perfect.
Another morning staple is either a bagel or a piece of toast. With the Sunbeam 2-slice toaster, my sister can make a quick breakfast before going to class.
My sister also loves making breakfast shakes (ok, lunch and dinner shakes too). The Hamilton Beach personal blender is perfect for her to quickly blend up a protein shake or something else to drink on her way to class.
Of course, no morning routine is complete without some tunes to wake you up and get you motivated. I picked her up a Bluetooth wireless mini box speaker so that she can listen to her music anywhere in her apartment. Plus, the speaker is rechargeable so she doesn’t have to worry about buying batteries all the time.
I spent quite a bit of time checking out all of the amazing products that Big Lots had. They carry a wide assortment of products including mattresses, ready-to-assemble furniture, small appliances, bedding, sheets, pillows, and throws. They pretty much have anything you could need for sending your kids back to school — or for outfitting your house. In fact, in addition to the items for my sister I also picked up a planner, hand towels, and even an end table!
The employees were so helpful in finding the end table I wanted (I snagged the floor model!) and even helped me carry it to the car!
Whether it is shopping for Back-to-College, Back-to-School, outfitting a new house, or any other household needs, Big Lots is your go-to destination!
