At the end of last summer I bought my new house and shortly thereafter I bought a grill. That means that this summer I am preparing for a summer of grilling out. Now that the weather has gotten warmer, it is time to break out the grilling tools.
This weekend I decided to fire up the grill for the first time to make some delicious California burgers. These are so good!
When I’m planning a summer picnic, I immediately head to my local Giant Eagle to pick up the supplies since I know that they will have everything I need (and more!).
Mouth-Watering California Burgers
You will need to pick up the following ingredients at your local Giant Eagle grocery store.
Burger Ingredients:
- Certified Angus Beef Bacon and Cheddar Gourmet Burgers
- Avocados
- Onions
- Tomatoes
- Pretzel Buns
Sides:
- Hellman’s mayonnaise
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Diced Onions
- Lemon Lemon Sparkling Lemonade
- Pepperidge Farm Farmhouse dark chocolate chip cookies
I recently discovered the Certified Angus Beef gourmet burgers in Bacon and Cheddar at Giant Eagle. There are also a variety of other gourmet selections, but I went with the Bacon and Cheddar for this recipe.
After grilling the burger on the grill, I put the burger into one of Giant Eagle’s fresh pretzel buns. It was time to dress the burger.
I picked up some fresh avocado, onion, and tomatoes in the produce section. Peel and slice the avocado into thin slivers to top the onion and tomatoes. You can even add some of the Hellman’s mayonnaise to the burger.
What is great about this on-the-grill recipe is that it pairs perfectly with onion rings and corn on the cob. In fact, both of these can be cooked on the grill. Just cook the corn inside the husk and put down foil for underneath the onion rings.
Of course a delicious burger is only as good as its sides, which is why when I found this adorable condiment caddy I knew it would be perfect for storing Hellman’s mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and diced onions. It was the perfect way for my picnic guests to serve themselves.
No picnic is complete without some lemonade — in this case sparkling lemonade. The Lemon Lemon Sparkling Lemonade is the perfect compliment, especially when it is served in a mason jar glass! There are several varieties of the Lemon Lemon Lemonade, but I chose the peach flavor.
Lastly, I finished the meal with some of the Pepperidge Farm Farmhouse dark chocolate chip cookies. These were delicious. In fact, my sister said that they were the best cookies she’s ever hard.
This summer, when you are planning your get-togethers, cookouts, or are even just cooking on the grill for your family be sure to head to Giant Eagle first in order to pick up all of the products you need.
