Last summer we moved. Shortly after moving in, we had a drain backup which flooded our garage and basement. Unfortunately, we had stored the boxes and totes that we had not unpacked yet were down there and got wet. Luckily, many of the boxes that had gotten wet were actually those plastic totes, so the contents that were inside stayed dry. Unfortunately, one of the cardboard boxes that was ruined had some of E’s books inside and his Children’s Bible was destroyed. I felt so horrible, and I actually cried when I had to put it in the trash.
I had been planning on buying E a new Bible, and then Tommy Nelson offered me the opportunity to review God’s Love for You Bible storybook. God knew just what I needed and He provided!
God’s Love for You by Rich and Renee Stearns is not only a Bible storybook, but it is also full of inspiring stories and people helped by and people working with World Vision. World Vision does very similar things to what Compassion International does, so I really like the emphasis that they put on sponsoring and caring for children in poverty. Many of the real life stories correspond with the Bible stories and the people are experiencing similar situations to those in the Bible stories. The two parts work together to bring the stories to life while encouraging children to understand and have compassion for those who aren’t as fortunate as they are. The authors even thought so far as to include “Did You Know?” facts about the areas the stories refer to.
What makes this book even better is that it can grow with the children. Of course, children E’s age don’t understand the real life stories or the devotions, but he can appreciate the Bible stories and the pictures. Then, once he is older and can understand, we can read the devotions too.
God’s Love for You Bible storybook retails for $19.99 and can be purchased on Amazon or on Tommy Nelson’s website.

When I was dating my soon-to-be husband, I had just graduated and needed a job, so I could stay near him. At almost the same time a job opened up in the field I was interested in. I’m convinced that job (as well as all subsequent others) was God’s doing.
God provided for me with some unexpected money to pay my babysitter when I was unemployed so that I could go on a job interview.
After my cancer surgery many ladies in the church cooked meals for our family. We were so blessed and grateful.

He always has provided for me, especially when he saved my daughters life during an asthma attack almost 2 years ago. Every time I look at my now 17 year old girl, she just had her birthday, I know how blessed we are to still have her.
When my husband came into my life. It was when I needed someone the most after going though some very horrible things.
