All opinions are mine alone. #RewardHealthyChoices #CollectiveBiasRecently, my husband and I have been working on embracing a healthier lifestyle. We aren’t necessarily unhealthy, but I want to make sure that we continue to be free of any major health problems, if not for ourselves but also for our children. After all, we are setting an example for them too!
My husband bought one of those fitness watches that tracks his steps as well as his heart rate and calories burned. I downloaded an app on my phone where I can track the calories I’ve consumed as well as an app that tracks my walks and runs which tells me the distance I traveled as well as the calories I burned.
Another things that I have found super-useful is the Walgreens Balance Rewards for healthy choices app. This is a great way to help you stay on track with achieving your health and fitness goals, especially during the chaos of the back to school season. The Walgreens Balance Rewards for healthy choices app also syncs to a variety of fitnesses devices and other apps. Additionally, it also encourages you to keep meeting your fitness goals by rewarding you with Walgreen Balance Rewards for healthy choices app for doing the things that you would do anyway such as daily tracking, setting, and achieving goals.
Walgreens Balance Rewards for healthy choices app allows you to make every healthy choice rewarding. Looking to manage your weight, exercise more often, quit smoking or boost your overall health? Regular tracking can help you reach your goal. The Balance Rewards for healthy choices initiative rewards members for walking, weight management and more.
Creating a Ready-For-Anything Kit with J&J Healthy Essentials
Since embracing this new healthier lifestyle, it means that my husband, the kids, and I are getting out more. We have been taking walks at the park, going biking, and pretty much doing anything that gets us some fresh air and exercise.
However, along with all of this additional physical activity also comes occasional mishaps. This is why I created a ready-for-anything kit. I don’t want to call it a first aid kit since it isn’t just for scraps and bumps. It’s really for anything life (and nature) might throw at us. I keep the kit in my car so whenever the unforeseen might happen, I will have the kit easily accessible.
You can include whatever works for you and your family, but here are a few of my suggestions:
- Band-Aids: Whether it is me who trips and falls, or if one of the boys falls off a piece of playground equipment, it is invaluable to have some Band-Aids in the car to cover any cuts or scrapes.
- Neosporin: Speaking of cuts and scrapes, you want to make sure that you have some antibiotic ointment on hand to help ease any pain and also to prevent infection. Neosporin has always been my go-to for the job. What is so nice is that you can pick up several different kids of Neosporin including a travel-sized spray.
- Children’s Benadryl: Whether it is getting poison ivy, mosquito bites, or any other sort of allergic reaction it is always nice to have some Benadryl on hand. This is especially nice since kids seem to get into all sorts of things which might cause an allergic reaction. It is even helpful in case anyone starts coughing or sneezing due to environmental allergies. Plus, adults can also use it.
- Band-Aids Blister Relief: Often after going for a long walk or run, I end up with blisters on my heels. This can be from my shoes or socks slipping, if my shoes are damp, or it could just depend on the terrain. Thankfully, Band-Aid makes blister relief patches that I can put on my heels to not only protect current blisters but also to prevent new ones from forming. This is always a useful product to have on hand.
- Lip Balm: Often when you are out and about your lips are exposed to the elements such as wind, sun, or cold. Having some lip balm on hand can not only help protect but also heal your lips.
- Bag or kit: Right now, when you purchase 3 first-aid related items at Walgreens you can get a Walgreens Well first aid kit bag. It is an empty kit bag that you can fill with whatever supplies you want. This is perfect so that everything isn’t rolling around loose in your car.
Now, through August 28, Walgreens is making it even easier to get healthy. You can earn 2,000 Walgreens Balance Rewards points ($2 reward) when you buy any J&J Healthy Essentials products. Just look for the special J&J Healthy Essentials display at your local Walgreens.

I’ve been needing to make one of these Ready for Anything kits since my family has been more active lately. I think I see a trip to Walgreens in my future! [client]
