The teams have been chosen and the date has been set — for the year’s biggest football game that is! The only question left is, what are you going to be eating for the big game?
There are so many game foods out there, but I’ll admit that my favorite is the old standby of pizza. Whether you are having a group of friends over or are just watching the game at home with your kids (like we will be) going with pizza is always a sure bet.
Ordering pizza during the big game can take forever, not to mention its expensive! This is why I love the convenience of oven-bake pizzas. Not only are they easy to make, but they are also delicious! That’s why I picked up a couple of Red Baron Classic Crust Supreme pizzas to eat during the game. All you have to do is pop it in the oven for 20 minutes and you have a pizza the whole family can enjoy for the fraction of the price of delivery!
When it comes to serving great pizza, you also need some great dips. My husband loves barbecue, my sons love ranch, but my favorite is garlic butter dipping sauce!
Up until recently I didn’t know how easy it is to make at home.
Make Garlic Butter Dipping Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1/4 pound of butter
- 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon of salt
I have found the best way to make this garlic butter dipping sauce is by using clarified butter. This will not only give you a more intense butter flavor but also won’t separate.
To make the clarified butter, you need to place the butter in a sauce pan over low heat. Allow the butter to melt slowly without stirring it. The butter will then separate into three separate layers. The top layer will be foamy, the middle clear, and the bottom will have milk solids.
Once the foamy layer has formed, you will want to spoon that off and discard. Carefully pour off the middle layer without disturbing the milk solids. You should be left with a small layer of milk solids. You will also discard the milk solids.
Stir in the garlic powder and salt. Your sauce is now ready for dipping!
If you are having a big game party a fun way to serve the pizza is with a dip tray. You can use small, glass bowls and place them on a board labeled with the names of the dips.
Of course a delicious meal need to be topped off with a delicious dessert. One of my personal favorites are Edwards frozen pies. Like the Red Baron pizzas, the pies are so easy to prepare. Literally, all you have to do is take it out of the freezer, thaw, and serve!
You can pick up Red Baron pizzas, Edwards frozen pies, and everything else you need for watching the big game at your local Walmart!
Comment On: What is your favorite food for the big game?
I love that board! What a cute way to serve your dips. I think garlic butter and pizza will always be my favorite, but I would love to experiment with others just to make sure. 😉 #client
