Potty training can be an adventure. Baby R has recently gotten to the point where he is showing interest in using the potty and also using Pull-Ups® Learning Designs®, so I decided to embrace it and start him down the potty training route.
When I was potty training Little E, one of the things that motivated him the most was a sense of independence. He wanted to be a “big boy” and do everything himself. With Baby R showing interest in the potty, I decided to use the same idea of being independent to encourage him.
To do this, I decided to make Baby R a Pull-Ups caddy that I can store in the bathroom. This way, if when he is in the bathroom and he needs to get a fresh Pull-Up, they will be right there for him. Plus, this caddy can hold other potty training essentials such as flushable wipes.
Making a Pull-Ups Caddy for the Bathroom
Here is what you will need to make the Pull-Ups Caddy:
- Half size wooden crate
- Two colors of paint (I chose orange and light blue)
- Wooden embellishments
- Hot glue
I picked up a half size wooden crate at our local craft store. This is similar to the large crates, but only about half as tall and half as wide. It is the perfect size to fit a package of Pull-Ups in!
I decided I wanted to do a sports theme for Baby R since he is really into sports. That’s why I picked orange and light blue for the colors of the crate. I painted the crate in alternating orange and light blue colors.
After completely painting the cate and waiting for it to dry, I then added the wooden embellishments. I purchased a basketball, football, soccer ball, and a baseball and glove embellishment. Perfect for a boy who loves sports!
I used the hot glue to attach the wooden embellishments to the side of the crate. After I had attached them all I loaded the crate up with a package of Pull-Ups and placed it in the bathroom.
Pull-Ups are my go-to for potty training because not only do they feature designs that the boys love, but they also work so well! For Baby R, I purchased the Pixar’s Cars Lightening McQueen Pull-Ups. The boys love the Cars characters and the wetness indicator shows Disney Character art when wet.
Other features of these Pull-Ups that I love are that they are even more comfortable than before with improved stretch as well as 10% more coverage — for capacity where girls and boys need it most.
In addition, the stretchier material helps the Pull-Ups slide on and off more easily and the Easy Open Sides don’t tear so they are easier to take on and off.
Did you also know that Pull-Ups has developed “potty training personalities” that correspond to different animals. Baby R would be what they consider a squirrel as squirrels tend to always be on the go, and are too busy and impatient for details. They are very receptive to games. Yep, this definitely sounds like Baby R! You can find out what your child’s potty training personality is through this link.
You can pick up a variety of Pull-Ups in different Disney or Pixar characters at your local Walmart or Walmart.com. Just look for them in the potty training isle!
Comment On: Did you take the quiz? What is your child’s potty training personality?
This is so cute, Rachel! I love the orange and blue. This could be a good craft to do WITH kids, too, and just let them “have it it” with the paint brush! 🙂 #client
