Recently Bright Starts in conjunction with Double Duty Divas offered me the opportunity to review the Count ‘n Roll Buggie.
I am at that stage where I am starting to teach E simple things such as counting, numbers, and colors. Of course, this is rather difficult when you have a child who would much rather be climbing or building things, so I am always looking for things that will teach him and help him learn. The Bright Starts Having a Ball Count ‘n Roll Buggies is one of those perfect items!
Pretty much from the minute that I took it out of the package, E figured out what it was all about and he LOVED it! You drop the balls into an opening on the back of the bug. As each ball is loaded, the bug counts them and sings a fun counting song. After all three balls have been loaded, the balls spin around inside the bugs see-through wings. The bug moves around the floor, singing, and if it encounters an obstacle it will turn and keep going. This not only teaches kids to count, but also increases their hand-eye coordination as they don’t know where or when the bug will open the wings and the balls will come out!
The only thing I was a little disappointed about was that the bug wouldn’t move on the carpet. I guess that is to be expected because we have rather thick carpet and often have difficulty getting toys with wheels to move on it. We do have ceramic tile in our kitchen so at least E can use the bug in there. Even without it moving though, E has a blast playing with it.
I do worry a little about the bug holding up though as E sometimes has the tendency to play at little rough. The other day I caught him trying to use the bug as a step stool in order to try and reach something on the couch. I was worried he was going to break the wings right off!
Overall, I have always been happy with the quality of Bright Starts products and this one was no exception. You can purchase the Count ‘n Roll buggie at Target or at Buy Buy Baby. In addition visit Bright Starts on Facebook or on Twitter to get the most recent information on their fabulous products.
However, the best part is that I also have the opportunity to give away one of these Count ‘n Roll Buggies!! Just enter through the Rafflecopter link below.
