It’s that time of the year again. Holiday travel will soon be in full swing. If you know you will be hosting company this holiday season you might be beginning to think about the things you need to by and the things you need to do before company arrives. Thankfully, Big Lots has you covered! I am a planner. I like to try and have things in order ahead of time so I am not running around at the last minute trying to get things done. I want to have the cupboard stocked, sheets washed, and bathrooms stocked. As I mentioned before, Big Lots is my one-stop-shop for all of my planning for company needs. I know that I can get everything that I need from towels and sheets to toilet paper and food — all in one place. This holiday I decided to make some House Guest Survival Kits. These are perfect not only for me, as a host, but are also a way to make my guests feel more at home. I was inspired when I found some clear storage containers at Big Lots. I thought these would be perfect for storing essentials in for easy access. I purchased three containers which I planned into a kitchen, bathroom, and essentials kit. I started by getting the supplies for the kitchen survival kit, so I headed to the isles with the paper towels, napkins, and paper plates. I filled the kit with things such as garbage bags, styrofoam cups, and zipper sandwich bags. This is perfect to keep in the kitchen so you can just use paper products at mealtime, or even for your guests to easily find. Stocking the bathroom is essential. In another one of the containers I placed items such as toilet paper, soap, shampoo, and conditioner. I also put in some extra essentials such as deodorant, toothpaste, a (new) toothbrush, baby wipes, makeup remover wipes, and chapstick. I figure if my guests are anything like myself, there are probably some essentials that they forgot. Instead of having to run to the store or being embarrassed by having to ask I just put the spares in the container. Plus, since most of this stuff was just travel sized your guests can just take the leftovers with them. The last container was one that I thought I could place in my guest room. It includes some goodies such as chips, and even some truffles, as well as some additional products such as Q-tips and cotton rounds. For female guests, I have included some hair ties and some feminine care products because there is nothing worse than being away from home and being without those things! The snacks are perfect in case your guests get hungry during the night and need a little snack. Now they don’t have to feel awkward about going to the kitchen to get something to eat. Whatever you need while planning for your guests this holiday season, Big Lots has you covered. Comment On: What sort of essentials would you put in your House Guest Survival Kit?
