This is a sponsored conversation from Mums the Word Network and The Stork OTC. All opinions are my own.
I always knew I wanted to have multiple children. I got pregnant with my first son after just a few months of trying. Even though that was a fairly difficult pregnancy, about a year and a half later I felt like I was ready to try for another.
I was scared though because infertility runs in my family. My aunt and uncle were never able to have children. My parents struggled with secondary infertility.
I have known about my parents’ struggle with secondary infertility for years. When I was younger, I knew it just as they were having trouble having another baby. After I got married and started having children of my own that I found out that there was more of a medical aspect to the situation, including low sperm motility.
With this in mind, I figured it would more than likely take a while to get pregnant again, but surprisingly it only took us two months. We were lucky but I know many friends who weren’t so lucky.
More than one of my friends have endured IUI as well as IVF. Not only are these procedures heart-wrenching but they are also expensive. So expensive in fact that sometimes it can even put having children out of reach for some people. There is finally another option though!
The Stork OTC is available over the counter in the family planning section (next to the ovulation tests) at your local Walgreens.
To use The Stork you want to track your ovulation using ovulation tests or fertility monitor. The Stork works by using a condom-like sheath which collects sperm during natural intercourse. Then, a cervical cap and applicator delivers a high concentration of sperm directly to the cervix to bypass the hostile vaginal environment and give them the opportunity to enter the uterine cavity.
There are lots of success stories to prove The Stork’s baby-making ability. Lauren and Nick are one of these stories. Lauren and Nick had tried to conceive for two years. They ended up successfully conceiving using The Stork OTC, timed with tracking ovulation and ovulation tests. Their twin girls were born at the end of 2015.
Thankfully I didn’t have to worry about infertility, but it is comforting to know that if I chose to conceive again and have difficulty there are options out there.
