My oldest son is four this summer, which meant that its time to start teaching him to ride a bike. This not only allows him the opportunity to feel independent, but also gives he and I the opportunity to bond.
I love being able to go biking on the many rails to trails that are in this area. Little E has been wanting to ride his own bike instead of riding in the bike trailer, so this was the perfect opportunity.
We started out bike-riding experience by checking out the Schwinn SmartStart bicycles at our local Toys “R” Us. Schwann is a brand we trust, especially since it has been around since 1895. It really is the go-to for the recreational bike rider — and Toys “R” Us has the largest selection of 16″ bikes for kids.
We ended up settling on the boy’s 16″ Schwinn Burnout SmartStart bike. This bike is perfect for Little E since it has features which makes it easier for little bodies to pedal. The grips are smaller, the pedals are closer together, and the seat is angled in such a way that positions the body to make peddling less stressful.
The specially-designed SmartStart bike makes Little E more comfortable and less wobbly so he was about to learn to ride faster and be more confident. Since this bike is also lighter weight, it is more stable and easier to ride.
Plus, like all Schwinn bikes, the SmartStart bikes have a limited lifetime warranty for as long as you own the bike.
Teaching your child to ride a bike is an important milestone and with Schwinn you know that achieving this milestone is easier — and less frustrating.
