Stomp, Stomp, Stomp, STOMPEEZ! {Review and Giveaway}

My stepson N is now 9 years old and he is in that stage where he doesn’t really want “children” things, but he still isn’t into teenage things. Needless to say, this year has been really hard to come up with Christmas gifts for him.

Here in Pennsylvania it can get pretty cold in the winter. Even though we keep our heat at 68 degrees, your feet can get pretty cold walking on either our tile or hardwoods. That’s why slippers are such a practical gift in this area. However, when kids are the age of N, they aren’t really into the children’s character slippers, but not quite old enough for adult slippers. That is why Stompeez are perfect for kids of this age.

Stompeez are slippers that come in various animal and creature designs. They come in three sizes: small, medium, and large. The website says that most children under the age of 5 will fit into a small. I ordered a large for N.

Now, here is the unique thing about these slippers — they actually move! There is a trigger mechanism in the sole of the shoe that makes the ears jump up, or the mouth open, or the eyes open and close. This makes wearing the slippers so much more fun.

What is also good about these slippers is that the trigger mechanism is in the middle of the slipper instead of in the toe or on the heel. This is great because children who might not have completely grown into the shoe can still trigger the motion mechanism.

Now if you go looking up Stompeez you may find some alarming reviews that were posted around this time last year. Since then, the company has made changes to it’s management to accommodate the demand for this year following what happened last year. This year promises to be much better.
