So as I posted last week, I have started to attempt to get back into shape. Of course, I have six more months until bikini season, but let’s face it, if I wait until March to try and get into shape then it will never happen. It also doesn’t hurt to keep that bathing suit in mind as we go through the holidays.
I really had no idea how much physical activity I was getting each day, so when I had the opportunity to review the Omron HJ-322 web-based pedometer, I was really excited. I was sort of shocked to find out how few steps I was actually taking each day!
The really cool thing about this pedometer is that instead of just reading the number of steps you took at the end of the day you are actually able to plug the pedometer into your computer with an attached USB drive. You can then analyze how many steps you take each day, how many calories you burned, how far you walked, and also how many aerobic steps (consists of 100 consecutive steps) you’ve taken.
You can then use this information to track your progress each day. What is great is that this program just comes with the pedometer, instead of having to pay extra for it. I have used other fitness devices before, and although those ones were more expensive and did more things, you had to pay monthly for a subscription to the website where you upload your data.
One problem I did have was that I often forget to put it on in the mornings. Not all of my pants have pockets so sometimes I just get up and leave the pedometer on the nightstand, especially when I am still in my pajamas!
