I am not a morning person — at all. It pretty much goes without saying then that my mornings can be pretty hectic. I’m sure it has nothing to do with pressing the snooze button (10 times!).
If you are like me and have a little trouble getting motivated in the morning, I’ve come up with a list of tips and tricks to make your mornings run smoother. It might even save you some time in the process!
Put your alarm clock on the other side of the room. When the alarm is right beside you on the night stand, you will be more likely to either hit the snooze button multiple times, or worse, turn off the alarm clock and go back to sleep. By putting the alarm clock on the other side of the room, you will have to actually get out of bed, thus making it less likely that you will go back to sleep.
Lay out your clothes the night before. I don’t even know how many times I have stood in the closet just staring at the clothes trying to figure out what to wear. To save time, pick out your clothes the night before. That way, as soon as you get up you will know what you are wearing.
Use aluminum foil when ironing. Even if you pick out your clothes the night before, there are always those times where you either change your mind, or realize the clothes that you had picked out are wrinkled. To easily iron your clothes, put a piece of aluminum foil between the ironing board and the piece of clothing. The foil will reflect the hear and will iron both sides of the clothes at once. A major time saver!
Pack your lunch the night before. Putting your linch together the night before will save you both time and money. When you are running late, it can be easy to say that you will just buy your lunch. However, that money can add up quickly. If you instead pack your lunch the evening before, all you have to do is grab the bag and head out the door. Additionally, if you put your car keys in the fridge next to your lunch, you will know exactly where they are in the morning.
Program your coffee pot to automatically brew your McCafé coffee. Another staple of my morning routine is my cup of coffee. I NEED my caffeine! What I hate is standing and waiting for the coffee to brew. Instead of waiting, instead program your coffee pot to start brewing at a certain time. This way, it will be ready when you are ready.
Not to mention, the smell of fresh coffee in the morning always seems to give me a little extra burst of energy!
Speaking of coffee, have you tried the McCafé coffee? I’m lovin’ it! (No pun intended here.) By brewing your McCafé coffee at home you will be saving a lot of money over buying your coffee at the coffee shop. In fact, an entire bag of McCafé coffee costs less than some of those coffee shop ones!
With the McCafé coffee line at Walmart, there are not only eight flavors to choose from, but they are also available in premium bags as well as coffee pods. I’m personally a fan of the French Vanilla flavor, because it is lighter and sweeter than some of the darker and bolder blends. However, my husband loves the bolder, intense flavor of the Premium Roast. No matter which flavor you love, all of the coffees are made with 100% Arabica Beans for a premium quality coffee.
All of the flavors of the McCafé are available in the coffee isle at Walmart.
Additionally, check to see if your local Walmart is hosting any sampling demonstrations (such as the one I attended). This is a great way to not only taste the coffees, but to also discover some new favorite flavors.
