Sorry I have been a little scarce recently. Between my son getting sick and me getting sick I have been more than a little preoccupied recently. Anyway, this weekend was one of the first really nice weekends here in Pittsburgh. I am not talking about a nice day here or there, but we have actually have several nice days IN A ROW.
Saturday was a wonderful day though. We woke up and our cable and Internet were out, but that wasn’t a problem. It was already been planned that E would be going to my parents while Mike and I did some yardwork. We were able to get our pond working again, planted some flowers, and just cleaned up the yard.
Since E was going to be at my parents’ Mike and I were even able to go out to a nice dinner, just the two of us. It felt nice to be able to sit at the bar of the restaurant, surrounded by other adults, and eat a nice meal without having to wrangle a screaming child. Don’t get me wrong, I love spending time with my son, but sometimes it is nice to have some along time with my husband.
The best part was that having the Internet not working was kind of a blessing. Granted, I couldn’t answer e-mails or blog, but in exchange I was able to spend more time with my family, which is better than any email or blog post. Not to mention, I didn’t waste a ridiculous amount of time on Facebook.
In the end it was a great day. Did any of you do anything fun this weekend?
