“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be.”
I have always known that I wanted to be a mother, from the time I was very young. When I found out I was pregnant I was ecstatic. Then, when I held my newborn son for the first time I thought there couldn’t be anything better than that. At 7 pounds 3 ounces he seemed to tiny.
I knew that this helpless little creature was going to depend on me for everything. He would need me in order to feed him, bathe him, change his diaper, and love him. Of course, he wouldn’t be able to show me that he loves me in return, but as a mom I just know.
Then when he was around 8 months old he began saying “mum mum.” It was actually his first word. He has gotten more consistent and much clearer in how he calls for me in the past several months. Today, I ran into the kitchen to get something and for the first time he said pretty clearly “Mommy!”
That was one of the greatest feelings in the world. I am not quite sure why I was so touched by this, but I do know that its these little things that make everything worthwhile. I never thought I would be able to love someone as much as I love this little guy. Just knowing that I am someone’s mommy and that this is a little piece of me will forever warm my heart.
That is so precious!
Kids are so fun!
What a gorgeous picture 🙂 I wish I had done something like that when my daughter was little!
