Can you believe that for many high school seniors graduation is next month? This means that in a few short months these new graduates will be leaving the comfort of home and heading away to college.
White this rite of passage may seem simple enough, it is important to send your favorite graduate away with the right tech gear. This is why I came up with a list of 5 essential tech items for the new graduate.
Computer: Whether it is a desktop or a laptop, your college graduate will need something reliable to do their homework on — and hopefully write some e-mails home!
Printer: Of course, there are printer labs on campus, but it is much more convenient for your graduate to be able to print directly from their own room.
External Hard Drive: A lot of computers have a limited amount of flat memory space. An external flash drive is essential if your graduate plans to store a lot of pictures, videos, or large files.
Cell Phone: A quality cell phone is essential for taking pictures and videos, as well as sending e-mails. We are just hoping that there is a little bit of calling home somewhere in there!
Backpack: For many classes, taking a tablet or computer to class is essential. Make sure you buy your graduate a book bag that is going to protect their technology adequately.
These are just five of the many items your high school graduate is going to need before heading to college.
What makes gift shopping even easier is that from now through April 29, 2017, when you spend $300 or more in MasterCard gift cards at Staples you can get a $20 Staples gift card by rebate.
This means that you can buy gift cards for all of your gifts and still get a little something back — to keep or give as a gift. For even more bang for your buck, use your favorite rewards credit card to purchase the gift cards and score extra cash back, miles, or points — just for shopping for something you were going to buy anyway!
