It’s that time of the year when ghosts and goblins come out to play — it’s Halloween! Whether you are preparing for guests at a Halloween party or want some treats for yourself when you are passing out Halloween goodies at Trick or Treat, you need a clever way to hold your drinks.
Instead of putting your soda cans in a regular cooler, why not make a pumpkin drink bucket?
I used a craft pumpkin, but you can also use a real pumpkin. Start by removing the top of the pumpkin. I used a hot knife and cut a zig-zag pattern around the top and pulled the top off.
I wanted to decorate the outside of the pumpkin and when I found a “Pick Your Poison” stencil I knew it would be perfect since this pumpkin will be for holding ice and drinks.
I used some temporary spray adhesive and stuck the stencil to the one side of the pumpkin. Then, using a stencil sponge and purple paint, I painted over the stencil, covering all of the open spaces.
Remove the stencil and let the paint dry.
Once the paint has dried, your pumpkin is ready to be filled and used. I recommend only using this ice bucket to hold drinks in cans or bottles and not to hold ice for glasses.

Oh my goodness, that is a BRILLIANT idea! I’m seriously in love with this! Now I have to go to the store and find a craft pumpkin and a hot knife to make this! (i love using a craft pumpkin cause then I can use it year after year!) And 7-up and A&W Root Beer are our favorite sodas,(it HAS to be A&W we are a brand snob when it comes to Root Beer) so this is perfect!
